Our major fundraising event was a wonderful day enjoyed by thousands of local residents and hundreds visitors. This event also gives other local charities the opportunity to raise their profile and funds; all credit to the main organisers David Wynn-McKenzie, William Moore, Geoff Hughes, Phil Proctor, Berenice Deakin (Tea Tent) and many other Rotarians. Corporate Membership
Another good day for Shaftesbury Rotary when we welcomed Mark Blackman C.E.O and Headmaster of Shaftesbury Academy Trust. The school educates over 1000 students with some 170 staff and with Mark’s membership we will strengthen our relationship with the school.
Interview Technique
On the same day that we welcomed Mark Blackman, David Wynn-McKenzie, Eddie Clements, Phil Proctor and Tony Morgan offered practical Rotarian advice to 6th Form students at Shaftesbury School on the reality of pursuing a career when they leave education, whether at 16 or after university.
Speakers
Chris Vacher, the long time TV presenter at BBC Points West revealed many secrets and amusing anecdotes of his 28 years as the anchor-man for that programme.
