A Rotary Christmas

A Rotary Christmas
Christmas Dinner and Carols with wives/partners; one of the special social occasions of the year for Rotarians, family and friends to come together in the spirit of Christmas. Rotary will be supporting Shaftesbury Chamber of Trade with mince pies and milled wine served from the Shepherd’s hut kindly loaned by Richard and Dawn Shean. This is usually held on the first Monday night in December and hosts a variety of Christmas stalls as well as many of the town’s shops staying open until late!
This year, the Christmas lights were turned on by Dame Zandra Rhodes CBE who is a patron of the Breast Cancer campaign.
Other Activities
Planning to replicate last year’s event but without the trauma when the wind blew, the rain fell, cards got wet, the mince pies were getting soggy, the flashing ducks didn’t flash, the mystery prize eggs kept popping open and the urn was full, but no one wanted mulled wine! This year the Fair was held on Sunday 14th December with the County’s biggest Christmas street market including the popular French market.
