A last minute postponement of our invited speaker gave us the opportunity to have a review of some of the clubs events and projects. Paul gave an update on next year’s Rotary North Dorset Charity Cycle Ride now established for the 20th May. Richard confirmed a full attendance for the Rotary annual golf competition on the 8th of September at the Larmer Tree course. Tony recorded the major Cycle Speedway project negotiations are going well with the Town Council on the preferred location. An application has been made to the Lottery Heritage fund. Further visits have been made to Poole club with the funding officer of NDDC in respect of a strong possibility of an s106 financial contribution. Monday 21st.
This was our monthly business meeting.
International Committee wished to support a water project in Nepal and we are looking into whether we can identify a project of our own.
Community and Vocational reported on a successful Dorset Blind Association day which we had supported and on various other projects which we were considering for future support.
At the end of the meeting Steve Uden was inducted as our newest member. Steve has transferred to us from Northampton Becket having moved to our area recently. We are pleased to welcome him to our number.
